The E&K 5 Year Old is a blended malt whisky from Adelphi's Fusion Whisky range, combining single malts from Scotland and India. The whiskies used for this expression came from Ardmore, Glenrothes and Amrut, and were aged for at least five years before bottling.

Taste doesn't match price or story behind this blend. The Amrut part of this blend saves it.
I have an Amrut Portonova in my collection. A fantastic whisky which only matured around 5 to 6 years. And what to say about the Kavalan Solist bottlings? They don't get much more time in the cask but prices are equally high because of the enormous angels' share.
Does the value of the whisky taken by the incredibly-thirsty-Indian-angels outweigh the money Amrut has saved on warehousing, cask management and insurance by only needing 5 year's worth as opposed to 10-15 in the UK? If so, fair enough on the price. If not, the price justification that Indian whisky matures faster is disingenuous.
I must agree with wtf. How can a five year blend warrant that price tag,you don't even get a nice bottle to keep
Re the previous comments, the 5-year-old component is Amrut, whose whisky matures much faster in the hot climate of India. The Scottish components are older. So it's wrong to dismiss this as an immature whisky on the basis of the age statement as five years is a decent time for an Amrut.
