Breath of the Highlands 8 Year Old 2012 (Adelphi)
A marvellously mysterious single malt, independently bottled by Adelphi for its Breath of the Highlands series! Hailing from an undisclosed Highland distillery, this peated expression spent eight years maturing in a single Oloroso hogshead between 2012 and 2021, until the cask was cracked open to release a total outturn of 334 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dried fruit, candied orange, and nutty malt, with rich spice and smoky coffee.
Palate
Dark caramel, plums, and dates, rich wafts of raisins and tobacco with bold, earthen peat.
Finish
Smoke lingers alongside dense dried fruits, rich oak, and bold barley with plenty of clovey fruit cake spice.
