Reviews for Aberlour A'Bunadh
Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 51 (70cl, 60.8%)
Speyside med tydliga smaker och förvånansvärt lite spritig fastän den har så hög alkoholhalt, sherrybomb!

Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 54 (70cl, 60.7%)

This is a wonderfull whisky for an unbelievably low price
What a beauty.
I enjoy a rather broad range of whisky's. I've enjoyed many single malts, sherry, port or bourbon barrel-aged whisky's, peated malts, single grains, etc, etc. even some blends and a few bourbons, all varying from €20 to €1200. Aberlour A'Bunadh batch 55 is one of my favourites, and at about €52, that is freakin CHEAP! one of the cheaper whisky's in my collection even. I haven't tasted a Sherry cask whisky better than this one.
The sherry is clearly present in the aroma. i also detect a hint of orange zest, maybe some rosé wine tannins, a bit of dark chocolate, and a pleasent, sweet herbal note towards the end. despite the cask strength (60.9%) it's a very easy drinking dram. I don't have a single bad word to say about this. Perfection?

Cask strength with a long kick
This is my first experience tasting/buying a whisky from Aberlour. It does not disappoint. Reminds me a little of the Macallan 10 years single cask - although not as warm. It has a semi long aftertaste where youcan taste the nuances of the oak and sherry and yes chocolate. It is not as sweet as other sherry barrels. Although it needs a drop of water it really surprises you and makes you want more. Pure genius

Packs a punch
At 60.9% it packs quite a punch, but the quality shines through without being overpowered by the alcohol. Ive bought previous batches of A'Bunadh, and from what i can remember this is the best. It's a tad too strong for me to properly enjoy without water, so i add a drop and give it 10 mins to open up before enjoying it one small sip at a time.
