An indie Aberlour here, bottled by the fine folks at Càrn Mòr for their excellent Celebration of the Cask range. This is a 26 year old single malt from the Speyside-based distillery, matured in a single hogshead from October 1989 to July 2016. 225 bottles were produced.
Nose: Nutty brown bread with a thick layer of marmalade, barley sugar, Toffee Crisp bars and Christmas spices.
Palate: Some intense tinned peach and milk chocolate sweetness, before waves of cigar box and old oak give it a decadent richness.
Finish: Spiced apple pie and vanilla ice cream! Yum!
