Good bye old friend .. Good buy not

Been my favourite whisky for 20 years, suits me down to the ground - but the way it now gets hyped and vastly over-priced has forced me to leave it be. Many nice malts out there, shame on Aberlour - just plain greedy.

I strongly recommend that

It tasted really good. It was soft and fragrant, and it was the best in the lineup.

A hugely overpriced disappointment

Like many of the reviewers here I'm a big fan of Aberlour, the standard 10 year old is a great everyday dram, but especially the A'Bunadh. This expression - LPNM2326 2018/10/30 @¥10,800 (£66 / $80) for 50 cl - was rather disappointing though. I was expecting to be wowed. I wasn't. It has some good fruit, leather, coffee and honey notes, but is relatively thin, a bit bitter at the finish and somewhat underpowered at 43%. And massively overpriced. What is going on?
