Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured Reviews

Very good nose,lack taste

Yes it has a fruit cake on the nose but harsh on the mouth,I find it so difficult to get the flavours discibed you all must drink half of a bottle to do the review,
I have tried really hard to get the flavours but no, Taste has a white horse background followed by teachers and these are my worst whiskey to drink.

Whisky for beginners?

Quite a sweet nose. Almost too sweet. Not a bad mouth feel. Completely non-existent finish though. Like, not a trace of anything. Nothing. Nada. Maybe good for someone just starting to drink whisky.

Just buy some.

Really rather good. Warming aroma, satisfying, lasting taste.

Really good

Just got into whisky. Started with NAS and budget stuff. Decided this evening to crack open this bottle, my first aged bottling.

I don't know the terms how to describe whisky but I do know it was tasty. Fruity and sweet. Some folk may dislike it but its my new favourite. 4.5 stars as I'm sure my palate will experience even better once I move up the price ranges.

Nice but dull.

It has body, smooth, sweet in a fruitcake sort of way, has some lightness to it, not a great deal going on on the tongue, not much mouth-feel, oak citrus finish.

Something like a smoother, oakier version of Spanish brandy, particularly that Soberano stuff.

Nice enough but that's it. Tastes almost healthy; like whisky for growing children.

Tinker with something good and fail. Badly.

Nose: Xmas currant cake...so rich.

Palate: Sharp molasses.

After: Meh.

A lovely drop.

Very smooth with sweet fruit and spice. Complex, long, with more fragrance and attractive honeyed notes developing as it opened. I like this a lot. Good value at the moment at £30.

Too sweet

Good texture and long finish. Too sweet though. May be good for new whiskey lovers. Feel I am little bit seasoned for this type of whiskey. Waste of money for me.
