Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.

Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

By far one of my favorite go-tos when in Scotland. I appreciate the medium bodied maltiness, a warm and inviting friend with plenty of characteristic caramel, but the right balance, which makes it easy to enjoy anytime. I can't wait to have it shipped back to the US...
lovely toffee nose, new to Scotch but will come back to this as a staple no doubr
With superb quality akin to sherry cask Scots malts such as Glenfarclas or Dalmore this is my 'house whisky' of choice. Just ordered 6 bottles. That way the rest of my Aberlour 12 stands a chance of lasting a while longer. For smoke, I go to Ardbeg or Lagavulin ( alas the Bowmore Mariner has all gone ) but for sherry cask this excellently priced treat just can't be beat for the price.
An ideal initiation malt due to lack of after burn and one which is difficult to better-hooked.
This is simply one of the best single malts for the money. I can't really fault this for £23 so it gets a 9/10 from me.
