Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.

Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

My favourite distilery, one of the best 10yo in this price range with outstanding flavour, straying of this one it only get better with Aberlour
Excellent malt and for the price more than holds it's own with more expensive ones. Have tried many malts over the years and this is in my top five. Pleasant smell and smooth taste with a satisfying after taste. If you haven't tried this before do yourself a favour and snap up a bargain gem.
I say basic because, for a 10 year old it is a little basic. It's very alcoholic tasting and lacks depth. Even the 12 is nothing to write home about. I think for the price, it's ok.... but don't expect an experience to write home about. Quite a bit of chocolate when it opens up and a big vanilla after taste.
At Hong Kong I can't find 10 years old. When I get it and taste, I love it.
Excellent value for a 10 yo whisky - My advice, buy this and a bottle of A'Bunadh (especially if on offer). Add a few drops of the A'B to a small glass of the 10 (or 12) yo and see how much it improves it. Much fuller, richer and spicier.
