The Aber Falls distillery in North Wales has given its single malt the Madeira cask treatment here! The rich, sweet fortified wine casks bring sweet layers of stone fruits and orchard honey to the nutty malt at its core.
Caramelised demerara, fresh peach and apricot, with floral blossom and a touch of marmalade.
Biscuity malt and drying oak are balanced by orchard honey, poached apples, candied nuts, and raisins.
Roasted nuts linger with toasted marzipan and fruit cake spice.
Pleasant scotch just as described but I found the initial taste rather harsh which spoiled it overall for me.
