It's A. D. Rattray's Cask Speyside, a limited edition 10 year old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery. What we do know is that it spent its decade of maturation in bourbon casks, imparting all those lovely vanilla and fruity notes into the whisky. A rather splendid Speysider, presented in a lovely shade of teal.
Lemon curd, soft vanilla fudge, mint cremes and floral, fragrant blossom.
Smooth and rather gentle, with barley sugar sweetness, creamy milk chocolate praline, fresh cinnamon cookies and black pepper spice.
A balanced finish with sweet notes remaining alongside a splash of lemon citrus.

Smooooth. One of the best Speyside malts I have ever tried. Not too strong. I didn’t feel the need to play around with splashes of water to get the right balance. Sweet tasting and morish ?
