Vela Vodka from the Copper Rivet distillery in Kent is made using a trio of grains, including spring barley, winter wheat and rye (with no seasonal nomenclature). After distillation (all of which occurs at the distillery itself - the Copper Rivet chaps admirably like to be in control of everything!), the spirit is treated to a charcoal filtration before bottling.
Subtle wafts of fresh orange and pear, with spicier notes of rye and pepper lingering on the finish.
I was served a drink containing this vodka last night at a bar in Faversham, Kent and was blown away by how good it tasted, with absolutely no burning aftertaste whatsoever! Had it mixed with cola, and it had a smooth almost vanilla like taste which went down way too easy, not that im complaining. This has now dethroned Beluga as my favourite vodka, which is just as well considering the looming import bans, and it's made right here in Kent! This will now be my go-to vodka hands down.
