An aged Tequila from the brilliant Patrón in Mexico, this Añejo offering is aged in a combination of French oak, Hungarian oak, and American whiskey barrels for over 12 months. The bottle itself is a hand-made piece of art, but the contents are truly sublime. A prime sipping Tequila, we'd also recommend trying this one in an agave-based twist on an Old Fashioned.
Any supposed tequila expert that talks about patron anejo being over marketed hype is talking nonsense. I have the Fortaleza anejo, don fulano and don Julio next to me and although they have more agave present and to some degree more depth, the taste, smell and smoothness of patrons offering cannot be rivalled at this price point. buy it
Nice Tequila but overpriced for 70cl - for this price I thought I was getting a 1l
I have tried a lot of different tequilas and this is the smoothest I have ever tried , better than a lot of other patrons! I think anything aged longer is always better on the palette
Patron has a big image as a top shelf offering, but as one who has enjoyed many fine tequilas over the years, I find it disappointing. Smooth, but lacking character and I get the impression it's had flavorings added.
Patron just lacks the essential agave character that I expect. I find it rather bland and although it's smooth, it has an almost artificial quality to it.
