Reviews for Herradura Añejo Tequila
A ton of bang for the buck
Being born and raised in California I've had access to the world's best tequilas. Heradura has engineered their anejo to stand with the big boys in terms of flavor with an astoundingly low price tag. It could easily sit in $80+ range, which makes this not only a great value, but allows you to indulge yourself a bit more often. This is what Mexican bartenders drink, and they smile and nod when you request it because they know you've discovered the secret next level.

All starts well but...
Herradura is a long respected brand (but now owned by a major conglomerate driving global distribution). It starts with mature barrel flavors, rides along smoothly and then...a finish of sweetness that just doesn't feel genuine. If its winning awards I guess thats OK then, but where does that sweet pinch come from??

WTF?
Holy cow, one of our favorite bars just got this in and my wife and I both love to try higher end tequilas so we both eagerly ordered a double neat of this. I can't even begin to describe the horrible taste of this, but we would both rather drink nasty plain old jose quervo than this swill. "Tequila done wrong" would be a compliment for this nasty liquor.

Smooth and Complex
A lot more complexity next to the Patron Anejo, a little bit of smoke, grilled pineapple, citrus, perhaps even a hint of green chartreuse on the finish. Nice for a change of pace from my single malts. I would recommend

Top stuff
Affordable good quality Tequila. Since I discovered Heradura, Patron and Don Julio I dont go near any other Tequilas when I go out. Once I tried that Jose Cuervo after many years and I nearly threw up. The taste is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Its like 2 different drinks
