El Jimador Reposado Bottling Note

Allow us to introduce Mexico's bestselling tequila… El Jimador Reposado is aged for 2 months in White Oak barrels before bottling. It is stunningly smooth with notes of cooked agave, vanilla and caramel sweetness. The producers recommend it with grapefruit soda, lime juice and a hint of salt in a highball glass, something called an "Authentic Paloma"...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Buttery, toffee apple-like aromas with roasted agave and baking spice.

Palate: Sweet vanilla and caramel, woody, with hints of cedar, earth, soft spices, cassia and vegetal agave.

Finish: Just a hint of fruit sweetness on the tail, and distinct red bell pepper notes from the agave.

Reviews for El Jimador Tequila Reposado
Watery
I didn't like it, but then again I have yet to find a Tequila in the big brand British supermarkets that I do like. This tastes cheap and watery . I would happily pay £50.00 plus, if only I could find a decent brand in the UK . NOT YET I'm afraid, the only good Tequilas I have ever bought were in Duty Free on journeys home from Mexico.

Hardly good enough for a base margarita.
Whoa! I know you folks know malt, but this is agave. And it most certainly not acceptable for sipping. You slipped and fell on this one.

Excellent
This is a great tequila for sipping. It has a lovely fresh citrus sweetness on the tail end, smooth and no harshness. Very easy to drink.

Not great but ok for the price point.
This is a harsh and almost artificially smokey tequila. Good enough for shots, and just about ok for cocktails but not for sipping.

Great value sipper
Hard to criticise, at this price and provenance should it be a sipping tequila? For me it shouldn't be but it is! You're not going to get high end complexity but I can't help but want to enjoy it neat. Only negative I have is it's 38% not 40%.

Great reposado
Great reposado, almost as good as the El Jimador Añejo. Try it as a long drink over ice with ginger ale, a little lime rubbed around the rim of the glass and a gently squeezed wedge of lime.
We call it a "Ginger Jimmy"...

Good sipping tequila +
This is my go to sipping tequila and I have tried my fair share of those more expensive. Nother costing the earth you can use it in cocktails without feeling guilty.

Alcoholic Aloe Vera Juice
Was recommended to me as a newbie to tequila. I have no frame of reference but this is much better than anything I've thrown down my neck in years gone by. Easy to sip and works well in cocktails. Kind of like an alcoholic aloe vera juice!
