Don Fulano Blanco Fuerte Bottling Note

A higher strength edition of the Don Fulano Blanco tequila. Sitting at 50% ABV, it's an intense, spicy expression, though it remains rich in herbal and fruity notes throughout.

Not for my palate...
You really can't fault the heritage of Don Fulano- all genuine and all lovingly crafted. These over-proof blancos are the most genuine expression of tequila as it comes straight off the still. So my expectations were sky high and for me, quickly dashed. I get a light nose but then loaded liqourice on the tongue , a real anise bite that lingers throughout. Thats not unique in tequila but I don't like it when its so dominant. There is vegetal agave too plus a power burn but that first flavor really overstays its welcome. Some say add a splash of water or ice and I did. It helped a bit. I'll try it with tonic, that could work, but for me at this price point I prefer a sipper.
