Destileria La Fortaleza
Fortaleza Reposado 70cl
Customer Rating
“One of my top 3 sipping tequilas, and probably as close an experience as you will come by to tasting a NOM 1079 tequila... and definitely not much point using for Margaritas (Espolon works for that). Having visited this distillery, I know how much care and craftsmanship that goes into every element of making this fine tequila - from the estate grown agave plants, to the hand-made corks on top. Everything about this is quality. Not many other places to go from here - certain Ocho's, maybe.”

Description
Fortaleza launched in 2005, but Guillermo Sauza's family have been making tequila for five generations going back to Don Cenobio who is said to have been the first person to export “mezcal de tequila” to the United States, shorten the name to simply 'Tequila', use steam to cook the agave rather than an earthen pit, and specify Blue Agave as the best to use. Quite a legacy!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Exotic citrus, popcorn, earthy caramel, wood spice, rich agave, orchard fruit, complex herbal notes. Really top stuff.
