All the way from Montreal comes this Cola syrup from 3/4 Oz. It's made with citrus and spiced organic essential oils, striking a fine balance between herbal tones and a delicate acidity without all the unnecessary sugar. The syrup is designed to be mixed with sparkling water, or to add an extra element to cocktails.
Don't try this expecting a fancy Coca-Cola, this has a stronger citrus taste and some earthy flavours that come from whatever herbs they use in the mix. First sip was disappointing because I wanted a better Coke, but on the last sip I was sad it was all gone and I was going for a second round. Mixed with some Havana Club it makes an excellent cocktail.
I love this syrup with Havana club rum sparkling water and a tiny bit of fresh lime juice, it’s on the expensive side so just have it as a treat. It’s quite an earthy taste but nice if used right.
Its either watery with not much flavour or as you add more it tastes worse and worse. It reminds me of cola but only slightly the rest of the taste is so utterly horrible and so far into the botanic flavours that we couldn't even bring ourselves to finish the pint we had made up let alone the whole bottle of syrup (and I hate waste a lot). Do not expect to drink anything like Coke, Pepsi or Fentimans cola from this syrup. Going to try giving the rest of the bottle away but only to someone who has already tried it and likes it as I don't want to foist this experience on anyone.
