Oxford Pure Rye Heritage Bottling Note

This wonderful rye spirit comes to us from The Oxford Artisan Distillery (which is in Oxford, surprisingly)! It's distilled from 20% malted rye and 80% unmalted rye in bespoke pot stills, and was then aged in American oak for two months. Think of this as a preview for what fabulous rye whisky is hopefully to come after a longer snooze in those casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Creamy and full, with chai spiced milk chocolate, roasted coffee bean and freshly baked sourdough. Silky caramel, toasted nuts and a touch of liquorice and orange chocolate on the finish.

Head for the Cotswold single malt instead.

As a fan of Highland and Islay Malts I thought I would venture out.
I found this very disappointing. Very little flavour and aftertaste.
If you want to try an alternative English malt then head for the Cotswold single instead.

Packed full of flavour, string oak finish

One of the most unusual spirits I have ever tasted. I’m a massive fan of their vodka, as it actually has flavour, and this is likewise packed with flavour. Quite fresh to start, with a massively strong Oak finish - likely due to them using new barrels. If you are a fan of strong, earthy flavours you’ll love it.
