Reviews for STRYYK Not R*m
Insipid puddle water with chili and a hint of sheep urine
That glass of rain water that Father Jack Hackett inadvertently drank, and flung across the room? That would.be better than this nonsense.

I can only imagine that to make this, the creators ventured into deepest Derbyshire and found a murky stream where the sheep pee; and then mixed it with some chilli. Enough chili to have an unpleasant aftertaste, not enough to make it a feature.

They might have been better going heavier on the chilli and making it an alcohol -free fireball.

As it is, this insipid puddle water is neither rum like nor pleasant in any way.

I'm not being anti alcohol -free. I had a pleasant evening with a bottle of 0.5% Tempranillo last night, so I was fresh and ready for a country walk with a couple if pints of 0.5% lager in the sunshine.

But this dismal affair...just avoid. It ranks alongside the old Kaliber from 30 years ago

Slightly woody water with an unpleasant after-burn.
Unfortunately, I found this beverage to be tasteless and bland when it hits the tongue. As the daring goes down the throat you do get a very subtle, weird woody aftertaste. The chilli then leaves a quite unpleasant burning sensation at the back of the throat.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy chilli and spiced beverages, but this was, for some reason, an unpleasant experience.

I’m order to make the drink palatable, you’d need to add some ice cubes to water down the unpleasantness of the burn and add healthy dashes of mixer, in my case extra coke, to make it taste of so,etching. Though to be honest it was a waste of coke and I would have been much happier drinking the coke on it’s own.

I’m not sure why this product seems to have glowing reviews on STRYYK’s own website - I can only assume that they are doing some kind of damage control to limit the amount of negative reviews that appear publicly, which is why it’s smart to never trust reviews on the manufacturer’s own website, regardless of what the product is. Anyone who genuinely enjoys this product has probably never had real rum or real spiced rum before.

In short, STRYKK Not Rum is slightly woody water with an unpleasant chilli burn when swallowed. Would not recommend.

Terrible! Nothing like rum.
Disgusting. Tastes like Jager but with a watery consistency. Tried it in ginger beer and the aftertaste is inescapable. Going to bin the rest of it 🤢

I can only say those that made this have never tasted real rum in their lives !
It tastes like medicine that your mother gave you when you were unwell as a child !

Terrible. Water with an aftertaste of chili and clove.
Virtually no taste until it gets to the back of your throat, when there is an unpleasant burn and aftertaste.

Awful. Tastes like medicine.
Awful. It tastes watery to start with, then all you can taste is clove. To the point it makes your throat hurt. It really is nasty.

Surprisingly drinkable rum substitute
Definitely not to be drunk neat but as a non alcoholic spiced rum substitute. With ginger beer, ice and a slice of lime it makes a very good job of it albeit without the punch (no pun intended) of the real thing.

Do not recommend, waste of money
This product has nothing to do with the smell, nor taste of rum and no one I gave a sip to try was able to keep a straight face. Absolutely disgusting. Even worse, to mimic the burn of alcohol, they added in chili, so after a pure sip you have the same experience as if you had just bitten in a mild chili - nothing like alcohol mouth feel.

Awful
Certainly not rum, at least the marketing is correct. However I am sure they are implying it is a rum replacement however this will never ever be an option as it is nothing like rum
