Strathearn The Heart New Bottling Note

An impressive New Make Spirit from the Strathearn Distillery, which was acquired in 2019 by Douglas Laing! Produced from Maris Otter barley, under the watchful eye of head distiller Angela Brown, this 200ml bottle provides a splendid opportunity to try Strathearn's spirit in its rawest form. There's more currently maturing for a single malt release on the horizon, and this expression is a promising sign of marvellous things to come.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Crisp hints of flint and mineral-heavy water are followed by creamy soaked oats. Buttery barley and a hint of citrus zest creep in, finishing with softly warming spice.

Strathearn Distillery The Heart New Make Spirit Reviews

Amazing.

Well done Douglas Laing.
A pure belter of a dram.

Even though this is bottled at 63.9 ABV - that cannot explain the depth of flavor and the complexity crammed into this small bottle.

I don’t have the “whisky words” to describe the taste - but i had to stop myself finishing this in one session. I did get “creamy” and i did get “buttery” but overall - i just liked it and cannot wait for the Maiden release when the masters at Douglas Laing say it is ready to release.

Well worth £18 and then another £18 and then .......... oh go on then another £18.
