From the Salcombe Distilling Co. folks down on the south west coast comes a fantastic non-alcoholic spirit - New London Light 'First Light'. Eschewing alcohol but definitely not eschewing flavour, this expression brings together juniper, ginger and habanero, alongside 15 more hand-picked botanicals, including the likes of orange, sage, cardamom and lemongrass. Wonderfully versatile, New London Light is great for using in mixed drinks (as you might expect, it does very well with tonic garnish with a slice of fresh orange and a sage leaf) as well as non-alcoholic cocktails. Incredibly impressive stuff, this.
Clear juniper and orange, with a floral waft of rosemary. An enjoyable warmth develops, with ginger and a prickle of pepper. Grassy freshness and a touch of anise lingers.
A strange lavender and lemon cleaning product flavour. Not for me!
The flavour is okay but no real length when mixed with tonic, once opened it also has a very short shelf life and deteriorates quite quickly
My housemates and I have been experimenting with lots of different non-alcoholic drinks to entertain us during a locked-down dry January this year. This is by far the best non-alcoholic spirit we've tried. I was really amazed at what a different result I got when I used their signature serve recipe. Light tonic water, really allowed the flavour to come through and the orange and sage went really nicely. We also tried their Vantage Point cocktail which was really easy to make and felt like a treat!
I can’t understand the good reviews for this. Just bought a bottle of this based on the reviews and we are very disappointed. It tastes like some kind of cleaning fluid, lemony water. What a waste of money, disliked by all three adults here, who all have differing tastes.
Truly remarkable liquid from one of my favourte gin producers. Considering it has no alcohol in it, it packs a huge amount of flavour. I have tried quite a few non-alcoholic spirits, all of which have been incredibly disappointing. This really stands out. Enjoy with a light or regular tonic, but just don't drown it!
