Peach Spirit 2yo '19 MoM

It's not always about whisky with our exclusive Master of Malt bottlings, as this fruit-packed wild card goes to show! It's a brandy-esque spirit from Peach Street Distillers in Colorado, made from locally sourced peaches. Nearly 16kg of peaches are required for every litre of spirit produced, and that is really quite a big old pile of fruit when you start to work it out. Matured in a combo of American oak and a French brandy cask for two years, there are a total of 319 bottles of this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Elegantly fruity and floral, with perfectly ripe peaches leading the way, joined by delicate notes of orchard blossom, honey, and nougat.

Palate Sweet, juicy peaches aplenty, with soft notes of toasted oak, vanilla pod, and a touch of vanilla cream.

Finish A pinch of peppery, oaken spice arrives toward the end, balanced by plenty of soft stone fruit, sweet sultana, and creamy fruit sorbet.

Reviews for Peach Spirit 2 Year Old 2016 (Master of Malt)
A great affordable peach brandy
True peach spirit is a precious rarity, and it’s always good to see a new product available in the UK. This was the original spirit of the USA and was historically much prized by bartenders.

But is it any good? Yes!

Neat it is drinkable with definite peach notes, but it is not as floral or complex as some of the more expensive peach brandies.

Where this really shines is in cocktails and punches. This peach spirit makes an excellent mint julep, bourbon smash or Philadelphia Fish House punch.

Interesting Drop!
My first review so here goes!Neat it is sippable. The french brandy casks have influence and give it a grappa/slivovitz type feel to it.There is no harshness or bite but nice warmth.I then had some with
lemonade and the peach really comes through without being oversweet. In summary if you are wanting something sweet(like taboo)this isnt for you but for a change from the norm it is well worth it.THE DISCLAIMER.This is my opinion and im no expert.
MOM.more of this different bottlings please!

Different strokes…
Not usually one to share online reviews but when I read the other review I felt I had to. I use this for Autumn Hot Apple Tea and made a banging Sidecar with it too. Would I drink it neat? I don’t even drink rum neat. For the price I think it’s worth the punt. Is it 5 stars? Nah, but it’s definitely not one star. Different strokes…

Revolting
I bought this on a bit of a whim as something of a curiosity.

I wish I hadn’t. There is a reason you don’t see much of this. It is like a very bad calvados or Armagnac with a rancid note that stays with you for hours afterwards that is reminiscent of the inside of old shoeboxes.

Bitter, incredibly dry and I’m just astonished it has made it in to this range, which is usually a benchmark of excellence
