New York Distilling Company 2 Year Old - Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Rye Company)
It's the second batch of rye from the New York Distilling Company, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Rye Company! Tasty 2 year old rye-based spirit distilled in Brooklyn by Allen Katz and his team, finished in an applejack cask (hence the whole 'apple-shaped cask' situation occurring on the label).
Batch 2 is a release of 481 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Super spicy nose: cracked black pepper, cloves, vanilla, ginger biscuits, touch of tobacco, and a hint of something a little floral here.
Palate
Full texture, creamy, rich, peppery alcohol with a lovely aromatic refreshing cut. Very fresh and lively, makes you sit up straight. A drop of water mellows it and brings out more complexity.
Finish
Spicy peppery finish.
