A curious spirit from the House of Martell. Blue Swift starts out with a base of their VSOP Cognac, but it's then finished in Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is rich and creamy, with outstanding vanilla and spiced plum notes.
Vanilla ice cream, clove, plum pudding, maple syrup, praline and fried banana.

Bought a 375ml bottle of this for $22 US on a whim, and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. There's not a lot happening on the nose, just a bit of vanilla and some faint grapefruit. The palate is much more interesting with cognac raisin notes along with vanilla and spice flavors from the bourbon cask finish. There is a slight (very slight) bit of alcohol burn and bitterness that I'm guessing comes from the young age of the spirit, but nothing truly offensive. Some malty bourbon and sweet raisin notes make up the short finish. It all works together remarkably well. This a nice sipping spirit all by itself and should work well as a mixer too.
smooth as if 30% , nice but simple, not so flavorful.
