Bacardi Spiced

A delightfully warming spiced rum spirit drink (to be classed as a rum it would have to be over 37.5% ABV) from Bacardi, with a complex blend of spices that should be sure warm your cockles. Enjoy with your favourite mixer or use it in a lip-smacking cocktail...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Warming and full of spice with a subtle hint of smokiness.

Reviews for Bacardi Spiced
Great with coke
Not a huge fan of drinking neat so I always mix with coke or other drinks. I used to stick with sailor jerry spiced but tried this as it's a couple of pounds cheaper locally, managed to get 1L cheaper than 70cl of sailor jerry and loved it, the taste is great and for the price it's even better.

Best value spiced rum with a great history
My favourite for a Cuba Libre. Excellent for the price. Fell hard for this during Covid lockdown, a perfect choice for a quiet evening at the beach. Simple, straightforward, and no hipster branding gimmicks.

Horrid Neat. Pretty decent as a long drink.
Got to say I’m not to enamoured with this. For me it doesn’t differ from any of the other spiced rums of this ilk and in this price bracket. In fact there are a few spiced rums that are cheaper than this Bacardi and are actually better tasting, Alfred Lamb’s, being one of them. This Bacardi Spiced Rum has the pleasing smell from the vanilla and when drank neat, the mouth is instantly bombarded by the sweet spice. But that’s where the feel good factor comes to an abrupt end. For me, this rum has way to much of a scorching alcohol after burn, as if it’s laden with far to many additives. Never a good thing, especially as nowadays us consumers are literally spoilt for choice, when shopping for a rum, whether it be flavoured or spiced. Having said all that, I do have to concede that this rum is quite decent once turned in to a long drink with Coca-Cola as the mixer. It becomes much more palatable, because the coke has the desired effect of neutralising the majority of the gruff after burn. Plus, this rum is great to use in cocktails. I concocted a cocktail where the Bacardi rum mixes brilliantly with the JimBeam and Archers Peach Schnapps. To summarise this Barcadi Spiced Rum is ok, but with some much choice, currently on the market, just being Ok, is no longer good enough. Who remembers Nokia phones? Exactly!
