Reviews for Abhainn Dearg The Spirit Of Lewis
And odd fish
A funny drink, doesn't quite taste like a whiskey being very floral, but incredibly smooth. Vanilla and wood shavings on the nose, lavender on the finish.

Save your money, buy a Bells or Teachers!
Possibly the worst Malt I have tasted, had this bottle for 4 years and decided to share with friends.
Lack of anything resembling a malt, disappointing.

Rushed spirit, not a whisky
Awful. Disappointed I spent so much on something I could use to remove paint with. Even tried it in a hot whiskey but make some use of it, but that accentuated the horrible taste of it. They should have waited longer instead of rushing this out the door

A more than pleasant surprise
My wife produced a whisky advent calendar from 24 unmarked miniatures and the ten year old version of this was up there with the best of the best; I can only presume the negative comments are from other island competitors afraid of the competition.

Beautiful mellow dram
Must admit, was not holding out too much on this. My passion is for the Speyside malts.
To my surprise this was probably the most pleasant whisky I have tasted with honey aftertones. Really beautiful whisky. 15year old will be a treasure.
My interest was having been brought up in Lewis and always loved the experience

Pour it down the sink.
A foul drink that reminded me of surgical spirit.

an experience...
Very strange affair. Nose like tobacco and wetsuit, tastes like glue. But a very nice, slightly soapy finish. Interesting, says Mr. Spock.
