Unfortunately, we can't ship Dos Maderas 5+5 Pedro Ximenez to the United States at the moment, but we've got some friends who can.
Dos Maderas 5+5 PX Bottling Note
A 'double aged' rum, although it could be considered to be triple aged. Rums from Barbados and Guyana are matured for five years in the Caribbean before being transported to Jerez where they are further matured in solera systems of Dos Cortados Palo Cortado Sherry casks (exactly the same as the 5+3) and then also Don Guido Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks.

Dos Maderas 5+5 Pedro Ximenez Reviews
Rich with hints of a rich fruit cake
I like this rum. It's a delicious thick chewy full bodied mouthful with hints of a rich fruit cake, possibly a Christmas one. This deserves swirling around in the mouth to savour its body and strength.

Yum.
This is so deeply flavoured. I bought a sample size and as soon as I can I’m getting a full bottle.

Christmas rum
Lovely toffeeish beginning with a warming kick to the end. If you like rum and dark sweet Sherry this is for you. Perfect rum for this time of year, tastes like Christmas.

A great dark rum
My go-to dark rum is Pampero Aniversario but that has become all but unavailable in recent months. Consequently, this has been a great find - sweet and smooth with the rich, dark fruit flavours I look for in a sipping rum (raisin, currants, fig) and a nice mouth-feel and finish. Pretty unbeatable at this price and definitely something I will be replacing (assuming stock are available...)

A very drinkable rum
It’s took a couple drams of this drink to climatise myself with this rum. It is sweet and the smell of those first drams is very particular. But keep with it, the sweetness is obvious but the taste and smell does mature as you you make your way through the bottle. Very much enjoying it.

Worth £40
Dos Maderas comes in a beautifully presented bottle which screams this is quality. Has a sweet nose, not spirity at all. The rum itself has a rich dark sherry red hue which is so inviting. It’s taste is very sweet.....obviously influenced by the sherry flavour......so smooth with no after burn whatsoever, a bit like Bumbu with a syrupy feel in your mouth.
Now although this is called “Dos Maderas” referring to the wooden barrels it’s aged in, to me it lacks the oaky flavour and after burn that I love and find in most top quality rums. I’m glad I bought it but I will continue with my search for the best rum in the world. So far it’s Bunderburg small batch vintage.

Very, very drinkable...
Just tried the 5+5 and can honestly say that it is exceptional. Smooth, sweet almost liqueur in consistently with definite sherry overtones. Just love it.
