Here's a treat. 12 year old rhum agricole from Trois Rivières in Martinique!
Tangy, fruity aromas. Hints of banana, nutmeg and toffee. Black pepper develops with notes of Madeira wine and charred oak.
Fruity and rich palate with a medium body. Plenty of sweetness, hints of black pepper, cedar and apple peel.
Fruit finish with sugarcane, cinnamon and spice.
A delightful and sophisticated agricole, as I'd expect from Trois Rivieres. The MoM description is bob on. On the nose and palate this had potential to be an all time favourite for me, but sadly the finish is just too short. This leaves me both disappointed, but also keen to refill my glass and at this price, I don't want to guzzle it!
