The Duppy Share Bottling Note

In the whisky world, the angels take their share of whisky from the casks maturing it. In the Caribbean, it's the mischievous Duppy spirits that travel from island to island, taking their share of rum from the casks. This legend is where the stylish Duppy Share Caribbean Rum takes its name. It's made from a blend of bourbon-barrel-matured 5 year old rum from Barbados and 3 year old rum from Jamaica. A bright, bold and altogether very handsome rum.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Green banana, cinnamon, slightly oily, caramel.

Palate: Sultana and raisin, followed by vanilla and a hint of brine.

Finish: Lasting brown sugar, ginger and fresh lime.

Duppy Share Caribbean Rum Reviews

Smooth and sweet

Really surprised by this, given the price. It's that rarest of things - a spirit I can drink neat. It's got far less burn than many much more expensive rums. It's fairly simple and a little dilute, but it's got a nice milk chocolate and banana character, and is very smooth. Sweet but not excessively so.

Will buy again

I have always loved a good rum but have to say this rum is Wonderful.... so smooth and not sweet. Wonderful poured over ice

Upper Duppy

Fruity taste with a woody hint to it, smooth but interestingly very flavour full.

Duppy Share is a unique rum with a different taste from others in the same category.
I need to see it also in cocktails.

Great purchase

Great as a sipping rum, better in cocktails. Personally I love it in a Daquiri, but works well in Mojito's and Dark and Stormy's as well.

Great in Mojitos

To be honest i use this in mojito cocktails and it mixes really well, it's my favourite run for cocktails now and it's cheap too

Sorry, but very bland

To be honest, I am in the first stages of my Rum journey, I have purchased about 7 different Rums now, and this is by far blandest I have tasted. No real flavours just a generic weak rum taste, and no nose at all. It is not a bad taste, but way overpriced for what you get.

Lovely rum

This is a great blend of both funky Jamaican and rich Bajan rums - which shows off the characteristics of both without taking anything away from the other.
Neither country typically add a ton of sugar to their rums so this has a fresh clean taste to it. If you like sweetened rums like El Dorado or Diplomático then this probably isn't for you.

It's very versatile. You can still taste it in a mixed drink, and enjoy all the flavours neat. Great value.

This is ok as part of a cocktail, seriously lacking in taste when drunk straight. Mount Gay and Appleton Estate are better for a lower price.

Not Good

Cheap and Nasty.

Versatile and authentic

The Duppy Share represents a rum that can easily take you on a sipping experience without being overly challenging. A lovely bold rush of Jamaican pot still rum develops into a great rounded Bajan rum finish. Plenty of flavour, but really quite approachable. Blended from rums of truly authentic origin. I'm happy sipping it neat, but have enjoyed many daiquris and rum punches with this as the base spirit.

Received as a present....billed as a smooth sipping is neither!
If this was a £17 bottle of golden rum to mic with lemonade or in a Daiquiri it would be perfectly acceptable.

It isn't's the best part of £30, billed as premium and a cut above the others. Quite simply it isn't
Don't waste your money

Very handsome rum indeed

Bought this to take to a cocktail party. Went down very well. A bit too well. Really smooth and balanced and not too sweet. Made a great daiquiri.

The Rum Fairy.

Nice enough but still not a touch on your Rumbullion!
