An immensely impressive offering from St Nicholas Abbey in Barbados, this rum spent a generous 23 years maturing in a single cask. Produced from sugar cane grown on the St Nicholas Abbey plantation and traditionally crushed in its steam mill, this ought to make a top addition to a special rum collection.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Spicy, with cinnamon, fresh pine needles, fudge, vanilla, and a strong whiff of tobacco.
Palate
Medium-bodied with dried currants, peaches, zesty orange, spice, and cinnamon.
Finish
Notes of nutmeg, cinnamon spice, and a buttery mélange of fruit and brown sugar with a long smooth silky finish.
