Santa Teresa 1796 Bottling Note

A superb single estate Venezuelan rum, Santa Teresa 1796 is made using the solera method (used more famously in the production of Spanish sherry). The rums in the blend are aged for between five and 35 years, resulting in a smooth, dry and balanced spirit that is perfect for sipping or serving in an Old Fashioned.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Caramel sweetness, toffee brittle, pepper. Cooked apple, foam banana sweets.

Palate: Vanilla and rich notes of butterscotch, molasses and chocolate. More of those banana sweet notes. Hints of Calvados, surprisingly...

Finish: Long, fruity finish with caramel and nuts.

Starts sweet, finishes like a great rye bourbon. Sip over ice.

Best rum I have ever tasted. I am not a rum drinker usually, but this is now in my cabinet for good.

One of the best rums

Beautiful delicious rum. Vanilla, chocolate, and leather on the nose, with a slight hint of oak. Taste wise, lots of Vanilla, caramel, chocolate, and a bit of citrus on finish. So tasty. This is best enjoyed neat or with one ice cube. My only complaint is it doesn't last enough, the finish nor the bottle. Buy it now you won't regret it.

Truly exceptional

A colleague introduced me to this fine sipping rum. Please refrain from mixing as you take away from a very wonderful flavour! A great gift idea for any rum lover.

Complexity & Balance

This is one of my favourite sipping rums. Elegant with subtle fruit & sweet aromatic, balanced with a dry Cognac-esque finish.

One of the best.

My favourite Venezuelan Rum

Rich and sweet and very smooth. I've tried most of the big Venezuelan Rums, and this is the easiest drinking by far. It tastes of the beach!

A proper Rum

This is probably the rumiest of all rums, many tropical fruity flavours, with a very tropical honey note... magnificent

Great stuff..

Great stuff.. one of my go-to rums from now on. Fantastic rummy-honey-tropics complexity, really rummy nature, real bucketload of manuka and other denser honeys alongside lots of tropical fruit
