Santa Teresa 1796 Bottling Note

Santa Teresa 1796 is a superb single estate Venezuelan rum. Santa Teresa 1796 is made using the solera method (used more famously in the production of Spanish sherry). The rums in the blend are aged for between five and 35 years, resulting in a smooth, dry and balanced spirit that is perfect for sipping or serving in an Old Fashioned.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Caramel sweetness, toffee brittle, pepper. Cooked apple, foam banana sweets.

Palate: Vanilla and rich notes of butterscotch, molasses and chocolate. More of those banana sweet notes. Hints of Calvados, surprisingly...

Finish: Long, fruity finish with caramel and nuts.

Good for Craft Cocktails, but...
I like it for craft cocktails but it’s not my favorite to sip on. The vanilla comes through a little too much for me

Very smooth
Smooth and balanced. A bit too much as I find it a bit anonymous, for the price.
Nothing wrong with it but not memorable

Great rum, a world champion. In my opinion the best solera rum. But it is over priced outside latin america.

Caramel sweet, warming alcohol
nose is pure salted caramel, its light with an alcoholic bite. There's a subtle spice, I wanna say nutmeg

Could have been great
Initially, the taste is truly wonderful, then there is a strong bitter flavour coupled with an unpleasant alcohol taste and burn. Considering the price that it is, I was not expecting this. I might have even given it 4 stars, but at £50 a bottle there are much smoother and better Rums out there.

Money spent for a Good rum with an excellent cuase
very nice Rum. Purchased a bottle aged in the solera system, what a smooth and tasty rum.
In addition to the a good rum, understand that percentage of any bottled sold goes towards the cost of teaching younger generation sport of rugby. What a
Princely act, well done guys, thank you.
