This 3 year old rhum agricole comes to us via the Rum North range, produced at Engenhos do Norte on the island of Madeira. If you thought Madeira wine was the only excellent booze made on Madeira, you were wrong - but wrong in the most delicious way! Distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, this expression matures for three years in French oak casks before being bottled at 40% ABV.
Soft caramel sweetness is juxtaposed by tangy fruit and fresh grass. A little bit of farmyard funk to it, but developing oak notes gives it some soft heat.
