A stylish Spanish rum from the Madrid-based Urban Distillery Santamaní, Ron Mentidero was hand-crafted in small batches with natural ingredients. It was aged in French oak barrels for at least a year before it was bottled at 40% ABV without any additives or artificial colours.
The Spanish word Mentidero means a place to gossip and the rum was named after the areas of Madrid where the people of the Golden Age gathered to talk and gather information, as Urban Distillery Santamaní intended to capture what it believed was the heart of the city. This is, after all, the first rum to be entirely produced in Madrid.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Soft vanilla, fresh tropical fruits and plenty of dry nutmeg lead before a hint of tobacco develops.
