Rhum J.M VSOP

Rhum agricole from Martinique, made by renowned distillers Rhum J.M., whom grow their own sugar cane for their spirits. The VSOP is a tasty expression which is matured for three years in re-charred Bourbon barrels. Following this, it is finished in lightly toasted virgin American oak barrels for another year before it is bottled.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Butterscotch, vanilla and cinnamon. Plenty of oak notes.

Palate Oily and sweet with a core of toasty oak notes. Subtle grassy notes, brown sugar and rich toffee.

Finish Lingering hints of chocolate.

Overall A good introduction to the sweet, grassy world of rhum agricole.

Reviews for Rhum J.M VSOP
Excellent Rhum
This is an excellent rum. I'm fairly new to the serious rum world. I've tried a few rhum jms and they're all excellent. Quite different and interesting.

This has an almost sweet grape finish, which is delicious.

My absolute favorite agricole! Less smooth, but far more flavorful than its counterpart in Clement VSOP.
Nose: bright sugarcane grassiness with hints of American oak smoke and a whiff of caramel

Palate: delightful. Rich and bone dry grass intermingles with burnt sugar, toffee and coconut.

Finish: fairly long, soft mown grass and sun soaked oak linger for a couple minutes.

Interesting
Not the smoothest but flavour wise, very interesting.

Punchy but with an elaborate and evolving flavour profile. One to try!

Awful. Like gasoline.
Really bad. I thought it was whiskey when I smelled it at first. But upon tasting, literally like sipping diesel, I can’t get rid of the stuff though no-one will drink it.
