Caribbean rum from Martinique, J.M Fumée Volcanique is matured for 12 to 14 months in ex-Bourbon barrels creating intense aromas of salted butter caramel, smoke, lime, honey and anise. Smoke is the primary flavour component here. It gains its name from the volcanic soil in which it grows all of its sugar cane on the Habitation Bellevue estate, right above the distillery.

Truly a lovely rum, not giving 5* because I don't agree with flavours, has a strong raisin flavour, the smoke is more of a note, you do pick up on all the sweets notes and it has a long finish As I said great rum, just not what I was expecting
