RedLeg Spiced Rum

RedLeg is a superb spiced rum made with Caribbean spirit which was aged in old oak whilst being infused with Jamaican vanilla and ginger. Just superb and very good on a crisp Winter's evening!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Custard apples and cinnamon. Lovely, inviting ginger notes. Very spicy.

Palate Good level of sweetness with gingerbread and hints of black pepper. Sweet, creamy vanilla.

Finish Long, spiced finish. Stem ginger in syrup.

Reviews for RedLeg Spiced Rum
The best Spiced Rum
Both the vanilla and the pineapple are outstanding. Red Leg is superb, excellent value for money too and for me the best spiced rum on the market sub £30.

A decent enough spiced rum - quite drinkable
Another one i tried which is a decent buy, its flavor combinations goes well and its not bad mixed with a fiery ginger beer but not my favorite spiced rum
Worth remembering we all have different palates and tastes

Good Mixer - Excellent Value For Money
Very cheap spiced rum. Not great neat, but perfect if you're mixing with coke/ginger beer.

No Redeeming Qualities
Didn't like this rum at all. Wasn't until I bought it from Morrisons, I realised it said "Spiced Rum Spirit Drink" at the bottom of the label. Which, I don't know if that means anything, but I have not seen this part on the label elsewhere.

Anyway... I'm very disappointed. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities. Very poor in comparrison to my usual Havana Club and Kraken choices. I can't taste any vanilla or ginger - all I can taste is alcohol. Might as well have bought a bottle of meths. Nearly as bad as Captain Morgan.

Exellant
Lovely rum, by far my favourite and at a great price to. Easily the best rum i have tryed. Goes down very easy and for myself personally the perfect anount of spice/flavour. Not overpowering but you can tatse it. 10/10 from me.

The Boomerang rum
Ive tried rums from havana club 15, 7, kraken, appleton estate etc.. Dont waste your money, you'll always come back to this one. Sweet, smooth, good mixer, better straight. Does smell of more vanilla than it tastes.

My new favourite rum
My new favourite rum! Smooth on its own or lovely mixed with coke or ginger ale. Highly recommend!

Ok in cocktails, at best!
This is definitely not a sipping rum, because just like the pineapple version, neat, this has an horrendous alcohol after burn. The situation doesn’t improve that much when mixed with Coca-Cola either, as then this rum becomes a wee bit to sickly sweet. Cannot win, going from one extreme to another! You know the writing is on the wall for any rum, when, even when mixed with coke, it still doesn’t taste desirable! So I tried this with lemonade, as by this point, I felt I had nothing left to lose by experimenting. And you know what, it improved slightly because it became less sickly sweet. But unfortunately, whatever mixer you decide to use, it’s still going to have an unpleasant aftertaste. My advice if you have this rum stuck in your drinks cabinet, use it as part of a rum cocktail and you’ll be fine.

Great value; so smooth
Best rum ever, my whole family loves it too. it's really good starter rum for people who are new to the drink, but also versatile and complex enough for a seasoned expert.
