Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Blackcurrant, cough drops, a little pinch of cinnamon, marzipan, mango, and just a waft of spring blossom.

Palate Cherry Bakewells, brown sugar, more festive spices, a smidge of vanilla pod earthiness building, amaretti biscuits.

Finish Softly tannic, with ripe cherry and spiced fruit compote notes.

Overall Cherry notes galore, with a backbone of rum rounding everything out.

Can't really taste the rum which for me is good.
loved this oozing with black cherries.
Thought about using it as a mixer but don't want to end up spoiling it.

Better than expected
I've been wanting to try this for a while now and was not disappointed. Had a tiny taster today on arrival and you could taste the black cherry and the rum separately and together. No real afterburn despite 42%. Plus they deliver in this inflatable packaging which is solid and means very little chance of damage. Excellent throughout. Thank you.

Black Cherry Heaven
Rumbullion or Diplomatico reserva are my absolute favourite Rums and having drunk them in abundance i decided to buy #173 black cherry as a bit of fun for christmas and a change and this is now my 3rd or 4th bottle it is honestly a great rum and is lovely over ice or with coca cola ice and fresh lime run around the top of the glass. (I have also tried the raspberry version the flavour is spot on but this one is that little bit better for me)

Lovely stuff!
Bought this for my sons Christmas, not much of a rum drinker myself but I do love a daiquiri, he gave us all a taste and I was amazed at how amazing it tasted! Very cherry with a lot of (but not overpowering) vanilla aroma. Might have to pinch a bit for cocktails. Will definitely buy again as a great price too.

I've had loads of these #173 rums and they never disappoint, never any need for a mixer, just enjoy over ice. The black cherry is my favourite .

Not usually a Rum drinker
I can’t usually get into drinking rum, more a malt whisky drinker, but decided to get a bottle for Christmas for when the family arrive, it will not last that long! A superb drinkable rum, I have been won over.

Black forest gateaux
I'm not usually one for a sipping rum, usually prefer mine with coke or ginger beer. But this, with an ice cube, is smooth and delicious.

Taste
A very nice and subtly warm rum but, always a but, a little too sweet for my palate. I prefer a bit more heat and spice. None the less it is a good sipping rum with ice
