This colourful bottling is Plantation's homage to the Fiji Islands. Distilled from Fijian molasses, it's initially aged for around three years in the tropical climate in bourbon casks, before it's sent over to France for a secondary maturation in French oak for a year. A spicy, creamy and tropical affair, and a sure fire way to taste a sense of place! An excellent sipper, and it certainly stands up to being used in all sorts of cocktails. Plus, look at that iguana on the label! What a cheerful little fellow!
Cooked pear, crème brûlée, candied ginger and just a touch of smoke.
Toasted coconut and fried banana, shortly followed by dried fruit and spicy oak.
Lasting butterscotch, peach and ginger.

“I was intrigued by the tasting notes and the fact that this is a Fijian rum.. The bottle is wrapped with twine making it look vintage and little iguana is cute ? on the Cork I get banana toffee with caramel.. On the nose you hit that raisin scent like a fine fruit cake and I do get that hint of treacle. On the palate... Wow this is good a very fine sipper that I'd love to enjoy on a cold winters evening in front of a roaring fire. It's raining here today so that will have to do ? recommended ”

Only tried a few planteray plantation) rums. Didn't enjoy the 5 years addition and the original dark was okay but this is my favourite planteray rum so far. Nice tropical taste which goes well with coke.
Lovely and smooth served with one cube of ice and a small slice of pineapple
Amazing in fruity and citrusy cocktails
Delicious! Tastes like gunpowder, as if they aged it in a cannon's barrel. In a good way, of course.
Not huge fan... was looking forward to trying it. It needs to breathe for a good 10 minutes to release the Superglue taste. Once you ha e done that nice rum.. but think there are better ones out there for the price
