We do have a soft spot for a good Panamanian rum, and the folks at Plantation have bottled up some absolute stunners in the past, so we were thrilled at the opportunity to partner up for our own exclusive Master of Malt release! This 2010 vintage rum hails from Las Cabras distillery, and spent its first eight years in a bourbon barrel, tropically ageing in the warm climes of Panama, followed by four years of continental ageing in a Ferrand Cognac cask, and a final year wrapping up in a sherry cask.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Waves of creamy mocha and rich old oak bring notes of dates and plums, vanilla pods, and dried coconut, backed by a touch of orange zest and fragrant leather.
