O.V.D stands for Old Vatted Demerara, a style of rum blending unique to the Demerara region of Guyana. The rum is distilled from molasses in a wooden Coffey still in Guyana before it’s blended and bottled in Glasgow. A classic dark rum with an almost cult status, that’s packed with rich, creamy notes.

Buttery, toffee-rich aromas. Dried peels, oak and stone fruit.
Syrupy, buttery palate. Sweetened coffee and banana sweets.

I’ve been drinking OVD with coke for many years now and cannot fault it. I agree it is difficult to buy outside of Scotland so great excuse to stock up.
Smooth, sweet, simple. Fabulous. Mixes really well with cola. I’ve been drinking El Dorado 12 yr old rum until recently, which is more expensive, and I prefer this. This will be my go-to rum from now on.
The wife bought this as a surprise after reading the favorable reviews, Nice sipper, mixes well with Cola but gets lost when mixed with Ginger Beer. Better than Kraken.
Gorgeous rum unashamedly simple... smooth old, vatted, demerara I’m not a fan of spiced rums I love a delicious demerara rum and this hits the spot... excellent value for money too
