A light but spicy Jamaican rum from the Monymusk estate. Great for enjoying in cocktails, but its vibrant notes of fresh fruit and cooking spices mean it certainly can be sipped over ice.
Ripe banana, toasty oak leads into simmering spices (think cinnamon and a touch of clove). Slightly floral.
Enjoyed this over a little ice..easier going down than the special but is that worth a tenner more?
I tried this instead of my usual Appleton and boy was I taken aback. In the bottle the rum is a nearly whiskey colour upon opening you know immediately this is something special and a splash without told me to take this on the rocks because of its Smooth silky single maltishness, not sweet but adult in its attitude and after a glass you know you're in a special place. Serve this to special guests and they'll want to know what it is. Truly a surprising rum .
