From Colorado's Montanya comes Valentia Rum, released to celebrate women in the spirits industry. Valentia means "courage" and "grit" in Spanish, and spent its first three and a half years of ageing in American white oak barrels, before it was transferred for a finish in rye whiskey barrels from Catoctin Creek. A rather dry tipple, perhaps one for whiskey lovers that are wanting to segue into the world of rum! This certainly would shine with a splash of ginger beer.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Dry vanilla pod supported by peppery rye spice, subtle tropical fruit, sweet custard and a woody finish with a kick of ginger.
