An impressive expression from Mezan, this rum was distilled in 2012 from freshly crushed Dominican cane before being filled into ex-bourbon barrels to mature for a decade, first in the warm climes of the Dominican Republic, before heading to Europe for its final few years.
Gentle touches of bitter orange, tangy pineapple, and guava.
Soft oak, rich molasses, and creamy vanilla with delicate spices keeping their distance. A touch of drying herbs, bitter wood, and old leather are followed by milk chocolate.
Waxed citrus, drying spices and tropical fruit salad lead to vanilla sugar, buttered popcorn, grilled peppers, and far-off rubbery oak.
