Nose: Burnt sugar and dense molasses, honeyed dates, and sticky sultanas with roasted hazelnuts beneath.
Palate: Soft toffee, rich toasted oak, and char, a touch of leather, and silky butterscotch. Suggestions of cooked plantain nestle beneath, with gorgeous biscuity spice.
Finish: Treacly ginger cake, caramelised apples, some warming pepper, gloriously balanced right to the end.
