From little-knowm rum brand Malecon comes the Seleccion Esplendida 1979. This rum was produced at an unnamed distillery in Panama from a column still, and was then aged in white oak barrels for a long old time, until 2008 when it was bottled. An intriguing rum, with balanced sweet and slightly bitter notes.
Burnt sugar, aromatic tobacco, fresh grated cinnamon, black peppercorns, toffee and oak spices, with a balanced slightly bitter finish.
