A marvellous rum from Labourdonnais, distilled in 2011 from pure sugar cane juice and matured for nine years in a single new French oak cask, in the tropical climates of Mauritius. In 2020, the cask was opened, releasing a total outturn of 510 bottles. A splendidly indulgent sipper with plenty of herbal sweetness and soft oak, it ought to make a rather good Rum Old Fashioned too.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Sweet wafts of butterscotch with a hint of menthol, creamy vanilla, and juicy, vegetal cane character lead to soft, tropical spice with notes of floral tobacco.
