This rhum agricole was distilled over on the Chamarel estate on the island of Mauritius. It was aged for eight years, with the majority of that ageing initially spent in French oak casks in Chamarel's old cellars. Then, it was transferred to casks which previously held Sauternes wine for the final 12 months of maturation. Eventually it was bottled up at 45% ABV, presented in a very elegant decanter.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Oodles of dried fruit, with notes of tangy orange curd and creamy vanilla. Sweet notes of dried apricot, dates and honey appear alongside oily toasted nuts.
