It's the second experimental release from La Hechicera! This time the Colombian distillery has added a fruity twist to its already gorgeous rum, having infused it with organic sun-dried banana – hence why it's called the Banana Experiment. The expression is also a nod to the family-run business' history in the banana trade, which is a fun fact to recall as you open the lavish bottle. We'll be keeping very busy putting all kinds of tropical twists on classic cocktails with this decadent, fruity tipple!
Silky, with black ripe banana skin giving a sweet woodiness, alongside touches of tobacco and cocoa, with a subtle salty, mineral edge bringing balance.

A very unusual blend, had a very different image in my head about what to expect. Nose; unripe banana, fresh cut, plain. Taste; very soft, vegetal, mild greenery, very subtle banana finish. Oceanic breeze, mountain air, mild unripe banana, not overly complex on the nose. Would I buy again? Perhaps, I respect the skill and dedication that went into crafting this concoction. Worth the price/yes, do try, just very unexpected for a banana rum. Just an opinion, agree or disagree, you decide.
THE best rum I've ever had. Just a quality rum with a touch of ripe banana to cut through the natural sweetness of rum. Really helps to give balance to the caramelised sweetness of the initial flavour. This has blown me away as a PROPER rum, not just a novelty flavoured rum.
If you like the original I highly recommend trying this, the banana is married perfectly to the rum and they've made a great drink for sipping here?
