Independently bottled rum from Cuba's Havana Club Distillery isn't something you see every day, but the clever folks at French bottler La Distillerie Générale managed to get their hands on a cask! Selected from a batch that was created especially to pair well with Cuban cigars, this expression was then rested in American oak barrels that had previously held bourbon, then Irish whisky, and finally Havana Club rum. A total outturn of 790 350ml bottles was produced.
Rich dates and dark honeyed fruits, tropical notes of ripe banana and grilled pineapple, with wafts of leathery tobacco, silky oaken vanilla with a peppery warmth on the finish.
