Different but I like it, not a usual flavour as above creme anglais......or custard if you like, lots of vanilla and smooth, a little surprised at a rating of 3 as mines a lot better than that, but I think this is a bit of a marmite rum.
Very smooth...unique taste, but I don`t get it , either. Much prefer Black Seal.
As a Bermudian myself I can tell you there is no such thing as Bermuda rum. There is no sugar cane grown there and no rum distillery. Rum in Bermuda is not Bermuda produced. It is imported from the Caribbean and matured, perhaps also blended, in Bermuda.
My wife and I stayed in Bermuda for the entire month of May in 2005. While there we tasted and fell in love with the taste of Gosling's Gold. We had been looking for an exceptional amber rum for years, and have sampled many, many rums from around the world. Gosling's Gold is it for us. Not overpowering, very smooth, nicely understated, but exceptionally hard to get in Canada, outside of Nova Scotia.
Disappointing really did not get the taste I was waiting for yes drank neat it goes down smoothly no harshness but even with the low price from goslings I wanted more
